COUPLE TRIPS THE LAST FEW DAYS SAW HOT COD JIGGING ON THE MUSSELL BANK AT STELLWAGEN BANK. CODFISH FROM 7 TO 19 POUNDS DOMINATED THE CATCH. WILLIAMSON 14 OUNCE JIGS WITH PINK AND WHITE GRUBS DOING WELL. POLLOCK IN GOOD NUMBERS DOWN ON THE BANK ON THE 216 AND SOUTH SHOALS. PURPLE TUBE TEASERS DOING THE BEST. TUNA AND BASS SHOWING IN GOOD NUMBERS.

Sundays trip met with strong northeast winds and heavy rain for the waterbury deep sea fishing club. 35 mile trip to tillies found lots of cod, haddock, polock, wolfish and cusk. crazy tony fought a fish for twenty minutes before landing a 45 inch deep sea cusk. biggest cusk i have ever seen. a trip to the official weigh station, all the necessary paperwork filled out, the fish is nearly five heavier than the 2007 mass. governors cup winner. congrats to tony. combo trips starting soon.
trip on june 11 for long time customer bill fedory of greenwich, ny found red hot action in 11o feet of water on stellwagen bank. 75 nice size cod for the morning bite. ray on fire with his electric rod and reel. bruce, frank, terry and the rookie held their own. thursday lt. steve bilow, his dad fred, bob landry and the rest of the gang found slow action in the morning, a trip east yielded lots of cusk and a few pollock. afternoon action great on the shoal water. 62 cod in two hours. medium blue fin tuna trolled up along the west edge. fish mostly in the 60 inch range. trips all weekend.
lots of scrod and market size cod on all trips. mondays charter for lake ontario charter boat captains saw legal limits of cod being met by ten in the morning. lots of big haddock on all trips with a few wolfish. schools of medium size bluefins chasing bait in with the whales. reports of giants being stuck.
the table is set! sand eels and herring are everywhere on stellwagen bank. big mac is in the process of getting all the tuna gear ready for the impending arrival of the medium and school tuna. rods and reels are being loaded up, fresh imported baits iced, and hooks being sharpened. first combo trip in two weeks. cod are getting bigger, bull haddock are already here and the big sea pollock not far away. give us a call and get in on the action.
trip on wednesday yielded over eighty big bull haddock up to 14 pounds. seven wolfies with one tipping the scales at 38 pounds.
tuesdays trip for the gang from new jersey found excellent numbers of mostly market cod. the next tide we switched to fresh clams and squid and had excellent results with big bull haddock and seven wolfish. top wolfie weighed in at 38 pounds. a few openings still available in the upcoming weeks. preparations being made for our first combo trips of the year in early july. give us a call and get in on the action.
